Making my home

Four decades ago, I was transplanted abroad – and a little bit of India was transplanted with me. That piece of home became visible in my student rooms, in the flats I lived in as a young professional, in the family house in which I now live. In all of these spaces, I recreated the home I had left, again and again and in different versions, through the art on my walls, the rugs on my floors, my furniture and furnishings. As the years went by, I began to help friends and family all over the world to do the same.

I would love to be part of transforming your house into a home that harmonises with your culture, your personality, and your tastes. I can work with the objects and possessions you already have and love. I can also help you find other pieces: art for your walls, floor coverings, or furniture.

Most importantly, I can work to a budget that suits you. All too often, ‘interior decorators’ envisage wealthy clients and a large expenditure. My services are especially tailored for lower budgets.

At your home, free except for travel expenses. We talk through your story, the pieces you own, and how you want each room to feel.

A plan and a budget

If we suit each other, I draw up a room-by-room plan and a list of costs, adapted and modified as we go.

Finding and placing

I help you find what is missing, then place everything so the finished room feels effortless rather than assembled. I work closely with you throughout.
